Active School Week

May 7th - 12th 2019

We had an AMAZING Active School Week! The children enjoyed every minute of it. Parents were invited to all events also. See below for photos of all of our events. There are further photos on our Facebook page for parents.

 

On Tuesday, 7th we did hip-hop dancing with the Dance Attack Stage Academy. We also had Emma Barrett, gold medal winner at the Special Olympics. She spoke to us about her journey to success.

 

On Wednesday, John Burke,the first Clare man to conquer Mt. Everest, spoke to us about his adventure. Then Paul Dunne, from Lahinch Leisure Centre, played some active games with the children.

 

On Thursday, Rosie McMahon did yoga with us. In the afternoon,

children participated in traditional sports day races, e.g. egg and spoon, three legged race, wheelbarrow race, etc.

 

On Friday, Lahinch Surf School gave a taster session to the children and played a really fun game with them. In the afternoon, we had a School Talent Show, where pupils showed us their talents in different sports. These included boxing, gymnastics, dancing, skipping, soccer, hurling, football

 

On Sunday, we had a 5K Fun Run/Walk for the whole community. It was a beautiful day and there was a great turnout. We had some refreshments in the school hall after.
